Comments: Ski conditions continue to be excellent on the Central Gunflint Ski system. We have been lucky and have not experienced above 32-degree temperatures for all but about 2 days this whole winter season. For this coming weekend, however, warmer temperatures are predicted through Saturday afternoon before cooling back down into the mid 20’s by Sunday. Plan warmer conditions this weekend with possible above freezing temperatures Friday and Saturday. Possible wet precipitation is predicted for Friday.
Regardless of weather, expect the ski trails to still be in good shape. We received 1/4 inch of fresh snow today and our plans on immediate re-grooming will be dictated by the temperatures tomorrow. If it gets too warm and rains or sleets rather than snows, the fresh snow will be best left on the trails to absorb the water and keep the trail base from becoming too icy in the upcoming days. Either way, we have the capability of grooming in whatever conditions are thrown at us, and if the trails are in need of grooming, expect us to be out there.
